You don’t necessarily need an entire styled studio in order to achieve the perfect backdrop for your photos. There’s no need to go crazy stressing over the space because when it comes to brand photography, simple really can be best. As long as you have a clean, comfortable and uncluttered space with minimal noise and distraction that feels on brand, you have the perfect blank slate to work with!
Once you decide on where you want to take your photos, you need to decide how to style the space. Even the smallest and most simple of spaces can be completely transformed with some props and great lighting. To start, take some time to consider what you want out of your photos and how you intend to use them. It’s a good idea to take brand photos that are versatile, so you can reuse them for different purposes. If you have any big events in your business or special sales coming up, this is a great opportunity to take some specific photos for that!
Your photographer should see your vision boards, favorite brand related pinterest pins, brand pallets - anything that could be helpful in nailing down your style for the space. Make sure to be as detailed as you can be when describing your brand’s vibe and what you envision your customers feeling and thinking when they see your finished photos. Your photographer may even be able to help with wardrobe suggestions, too.
The key thing to remember when styling your space for your photoshoot is that your attention should be in the details. Everything should tie in together (brand photos/themes) and give one cohesive feel. The props, textiles and artwork, intentional color pops and even your wardrobe will all make the biggest impact on the finished style of your space, which is why it’s so important to be clear and detailed with your photographer.
